Are we there yet?

Honey, get the map...

Summer is approaching and my husband and I are debating on where we want to take the kids for vacation.  One thing we do know, is that there is almost 100% certainty that we will get lost and we will argue about it.  Men don't like to ask for directions and most women typically can't read a map. (Or maybe that's just me?)  Thank goodness for GPS and navigation on my phone.  Otherwise, there's no telling where we'd end up!

Just like our family vacation holds the inevitable truth that we will get lost, life in general also has a way of taking us off course and dumping us out in the middle of nowhere.  I've had this happen more than once.  Divorce, job changes, and remarriage are just a few things that I've had derail me over the past 8 years.  What do you do when life throws you off-course?  For me, I pray. I remember the verse Philippians 4:13-I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.   It keeps me going in the face of despair, sadness, worry, defeat...or whatever life hands me. The Bible is my road map to God.  It gives me clear direction and instruction, and it never steers me the wrong way.

If you're reading this and are fighting to find your way back on course, I pray that you'll seek comfort in God's word and seek refuge in Him.  Whether it's in your personal life or your writing, God will never leave you or forsake you.

Blessings,
Theresa
